My own personal bias is towards a long wave over a tall steep one. I don't want one of those 10 mph hip high waves that's only one board length long.

So from that bias, I can offer that 15' is about all you'll get on a T22. It's enough for two (sometimes three) pumps before you hit the lip. This would be running with 900s in the back, a full triangle sack on top of the seats in the bow, some lead in the bow, and a crew of 5 (say 800 lbs of peeps) at 11.5.

I haven't ridden the T23, but have ridden a 23LSV quite a bit, and would assume they'd be pretty close. The T22 wave is only a little bit smaller than the LSV when both are maxed out, though the difference is definitely noticeable. Just a little bit more margin for error at the back of the pocket, maybe half a board length more pocket, a slightly bigger wave, etc.

If you are running the two boats at more moderate weights, the difference is even less pronounced.

Pics are hard too because the wave can look bigger or smaller based on the camera angle.

T22 examples, shot from in the boat:

Gibbs, do you care to tell us once again what the exact setup you are running in those pics? Also do you deploy the wedge? Thanks!

I measured mine at around 23 ft to the curl.
Current Setup
All hard tanks full
1100's rear
Bow sac full under seats about 550lbs
150 lbs lead in the nose
400 lbs sac front walkway
155 lbs fat brick rear surf side

No wedge most of the time it make the wave shorter down to about 20 foot but not as clean with my setup

Shawdoggy, that wave looks nice but the water looks really nice. Where is that picture taken?

No wedge with that setup. I will occasionally run the wedge but I prefer without

Pyramid Lake, NV. It's where the water from Lake Tahoe ends up.

Is that what you run with a small crew?

Man I wish I had pictures of the day I had all my ballast full and 10 adults onboard, it was quite a ridiculous wave. I could only imagine if I had a few more people with us
