Depending on your board (and of course wave) you can go 12.8-13mph. My ex-girlfriend always rode at 12.8 on a Shredd Stixx behind my boat on the goofy side.

True. And the faster you ride the easier it is to catch air off the lip because one, the wave lengthens and allows you more distance to accelerate down the line by pumping and two, the faster you go the firmer the wave becomes and will give you a harder pop off the lip.
