Im looking at a new 2014 T22
That dosent have the pnp. My primary use will be surfing along with tube pulling and wake-boarding. The dealer is going to see about installing rear PNP and the throwing in a pump and sac for the front. How much of a pita is this going to be? Is it worth considering a bow pnp install? Any current T22 owners who can chime in? Thanks in advance. This will be my first boat. Im set on this one, but am also considering a '15 Mondo with autoflow thats 5k more (or a 13 MB B52 thats 10k less...) flame on

PNP is a must, including the bow sac.. It still blows my mind that I see dealers ordering these boats without PNP. The extra room the T22 will have over the mondo will be nice, but the mondo is a very nice boat. The world is going MB crazy right now, but i dont know enough about them to comment on them.. Good luck, you have 3 nice boats to choose from.

We shopped the Axis/Moomba directly and decided on the T22 over the Mondo. The extra space is nice and the price was better. With spending this kind of money I did NOT want to have to do any work to get it sacked out, that's why I upgraded from my 1996 Malibu. I'd see about having the dealer plumb in a PNP setup for front/rear, there should be plenty of switches on the dash already that they can use.

Mondo vs T22: $5K more, less room in boat, less storage, smaller beam and overall length, inferior wakeboard and surf wave in comparison by a long shot, less market share when looking to resell privately when YOU WILL want another boat. Nice interior though as I've owned a Moomba in 2009.

T22 vs Mondo: $5K less (need to pay dealer to install PnP bow, maybe $600-$1000?), proven great surf and wakeboard wake, bigger boat, more storage, more room to relax, surfgate system that makes it desirable for resell, much better market share compared to Moomba for resell (as far as boating public).
You'll be happier, longer.

IF you decide on the Mondo, here's what will probably happen. You said this is your first boat. Well, you've already made a great decision to get right in with a new/newer wakeboat instead of getting a small Bayliner type boat and wanting to upgrade 3-6 months later. IF you get the Mondo this will put you "in" with the "snobby" wakeboat boat crowd as the Bayliner crowd looks at us often. Then you'll meet and ride/surf other wakeboats like the Malibus, Axis A22, T23, A24, T22, newer Tige's, newer Nautiques, Centurions (which are surf machines), MB 23TWB, maybe an MC X30 , X23, or X25. Then you'll get your buyer's remorse on your Mondo after you see the waves and wakes. ive had 8 boats in my life, I know the upgrade mind game. Just want you to get a great boat up front the first time with the better wave/wake to enjoy.

Worse case fill a triangle and drop it on the top of the seats or even fill it up under the seats with a regular pump. from filling up 4-6 bags manually over the years.. Manually filling one bag would be a piece of cake. do that for the season and then at the end when the season is over drop it at the dealer and have him put in the nose bag in the off season.

Have the dealer install the bow p-n-p. Then go buy a 350-500lb sac with external pump for the walkway. Use it when you are light on crew and still want a good surf wave.

I'm thinking along the same lines, they're gonna throw in a bag and external pump for the bow as well as the rear PNP. So if I add a walkway sack later, i'll already have the pump. For the bow PNP install is there a thru-hull required or is it a matter of tying into the existing lines? Anyone with a sharpie who can sketch the routing? I might just wait a season or two and then have the dealer install the bow PNP, unless it's a DIY that a guy can handle (I wont be doing any thru-hulls myself on a 70K boat).

Not sure I should piggy back my next question onto this thread but any board recommendations?

I have a 9 yo, 6 yo, me and my wife. Will get a three place tube (for the fat kids), found an airhead kids wakeboard for 100$ brand new/unused, need a kids surf board and an adult board. Wife can't get up yet, I'm a boarder from years past and have no trouble getting up behind any boat (though my skills once up are still lacking). Also, anyone store their boards on the factory bimini? I've seen posts where people sew pockets on (not putting a z5 on a boat quite yet).

I have bought boards/gear from evo.com. I don't care to have the fanciest board/stuff so I typically find last years closest outs for killer deals on that website on the outlet side of things.

As far as tubes we have 3 single tubes we pull because we like being able to have battle tubes and try and knock others off, where 1 three person tube I don't think would be as much fun, IMO.

I'm not sure if anything changed with the structure of the factory bimini but I do know that the 15 T22's have the option of coming with pocket/straps for surf storage on the bimini and it wasn't much more than a standard bimini, definitley not z5 price.

Have fun and post pictures when you get it!
