I know we mostly hear about the bad experiences with our dealers and malibu, but we rarely hear about the good experiences, so I would like to share mine.

The local malibu dealer was bought out and moved about 25 miles away and all the staff were let go. During the transition I was worried that my warranty claims that were already approved and being worked on would fall through the cracks. Chris Loomis, the west coast malibu/axis rep, helped the new dealer to make sure that did not happen. I got all my warranty items taken care of and they even made sure to get it done before we leave for Lake Powell in 2 days.

A big thank you to Chris at Malibu, Tim Walters at Tilly's Marine, and the guys and gals at Malibu for getting it done so quickly.

Good deal. I don't have any warranty issues at the moment but I feel your pain about transitioning.

That's awesome to hear.....but what warranty do you have left on a 4 year old boat? Just curious in case I have some issues down the line.

my bow seat skins, the small black part in each corner, melted from the shape of the fiberglass in the bow corners.... My dealer did a good job going to bat for me two years ago to prove that it is a design flaw causing the melting. It took him almost a year to get approval (had to put another boat out on the lot on a hot day and time-lapse the cushion melting in the sun).

So the fix was to reupholster the cushions. He and I knew that it was going to do it again, the very first time I took it out on a hot day... but I accepted the fix. First trip out, all three cushions melted just like we said it would. It took a while but I was approved to get them fixed again and get those small pieces of dec-track to put in the concave area in the bow to prevent the sun reflection down on the cushions. Then that dealership was taken over, the mechanic let go (the guy who knew everything that was going on with my boat). It just took a while to get my claim taken care of during that transition, but I got me cushions and they look great, and I think the deck track pieces will work fine.

Chris is a good guy. Glad he could help you. This Tim you speak of. Is this the old Tim from LF? I heard he went into boat sales or a dealership?? Same Tim? If so good to see him still in the axis circles.

Thanks for the info and again glad to hear it was all handled well. I remember our dealer telling us about adding the deck track stuff in the corners of the bow, didn't realize it was because of vinyl melting!

Do you have picture of the added deck material?
I'm trying to figure out the area of concern

I was worried when Paradise went away and Tilly's took over. I have not had any warranty issues, but I have heard good stuff.

For non-warranty stuff I am totally sold on Waketech as he makes house calls in So-Cal as well as at Lake Havasu and Parker. My A22 is garaged in Parker and all I need to do is call the boat gets serviced without me even having to lift a finger or make a drive.

Brian (waketech) is a great guy and knows his stuff! Pretty sure he can do any warranty stuff on Indmar.
