Wanted to put my $0.02 in... Have it and absolutely love it. Won't have another boat without one. No problems towing with it up, looks better IMO, provides shade at all hours of the day, can put boards on it if needed

.....I thought the same thing... pricey! but couldn't I find any alternatives and didn't like the stock bimini.

Couldn't be happier I got it!

I called my dealer to add it on....The positives definitely outweigh the only negative(price). How easily does it fold back or do you just take the fabric off if you want some sun on the driver?

That is the downside to the Z5 for sure....once it's up...it's up.

I feel like that's a small trade off because if with all these 100+ degree days we've been having I'll take all the shade I can get.

Does anyone know if it is possible or how hard it is to lower the tower for a few seconds with the Z5 on to be able to pass under a low lying bridge?

Just my honest opinion....I hate the looks and function of the Z5. I opted for the standard bimini and an extra set of board racks. Cheaper plus I think the boat looks better loaded down with boards on the racks. Again thats just my opinion.

It has straps to slide ski's into and I bungie tubes to the top front part of it.

Anyone got a recent price for a Z5 lately? I'm hearing $3000+. If so, can you steer me in the right direction. Will a surf board fit on it with 2- 485s on tower? Thx

Z5 when ordered with a custom built boat is $2400 option (might vary a tiny bit by dealer). After you have the boat it's anywhere from $3000-$3400 depending on dealer and you CANNOT order direct from Z5. Surfboards fit with 485 or Rev410 but you'll need to modify the bungie straps slightly. You need to take off the pad with the sewn in bungie, unstitch the bungie, then have then re-sewn a little wider to allow the surfboard to slide farther forward in the Z5. Reason is, the pods for those speakers are big. I only put surfboards on my Z5. If I run out of room in my two swivel board racks for wakeboards then there's too many people riding in my boat and too long between sets IMO.

From the photos it looks like it sits really low on the tower. At 6 foot + I think it would be a pain in the ass. The thing I like about the Axis tower is that I can stand under it without smacking my head on something.. I like the idea of being able to gain a few storage spots for boards though..
